“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they’re right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”
When I decided to go blonde i was absolutely terrified. Since I was in high school i always dyed my hair. Not once, have i ever had the courage to go blonde. I always stuck with neutral colors or highlights but NEVER fully commited to going all the way.
It wasn’t only until the beginning of this challenge that i worked up the courage to go and try it. I started getting bored with my hair and i wanted to go for a dramatic change. The process of going blonde from brunette is a long one. However, to make myself ease into the transition i decided to channel one of my favorite icons: Marilyn Monroe.
Someone once told me that it takes a certain kind of person to want to make such a dramatic color change in their hair. Someone who exudes confidence, character, beauty and courage. (With such a striking color.. especially since i will become a blonde asian you most definitely be ready for attention.)
I absolutely adore Marilyn because even though she wasn’t perfect she didn’t make any apologies for it. She was just herself. Regardless with what anyone thought of her. Even though there were ones who didn’t accept her, there were just as many who adored her.
Marilyn taught me that besides being a blonde the most important thing to have is CONFIDENCE.
CONFIDENCE IS SEXY.
